How to Enter:

  • Entry Fees: $20 exhibitor fee per child. (No per-animal fee.)

  • ELECTRONIC ENTRIES are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED

  • Entry AND payment must be received by August 4, 2024.

  • Day of Show Entries: There are no day of show entries. If entries are needed to make sanction, the show committee will reach out to individuals in that breed. Same-day substitution on scratched entries allowed within the same class and breed if named during check-in. Entry fee refunds will only be given when the entire herd is scratched and the show secretary is notified no later than 3 days prior to the start of show.

YOUTH RULES:

  • PLEASE check in by 7:30 AM. Show starts at 8:00 AM sharp with Showmanship classes.

  • Participation open to ALL youth ages 5 to 21. Base date for age is August 10, 2025

  • All participants MUST sign up for showmanship.

  • Youth must tend their own animals as age appropriate.

  • Show officials will not tolerate any unsportsman-like conduct.

  • Show attire includes white shirt, white or khaki pants, belt and closed-toed shoes. Please be

    neat and presentable. No bare feet allowed on the Fairgrounds.

  • Entries are unlimited.

  • Do NOT enter juniors in the Jr./Senior Combined Show, unless show officials request the entry.

  • No horned animals allowed.


SHOW RULES:
2025 ADGA rules shall govern. (These are ADGA sanctioned shows. Exhibitors wishing to have legs recognized by AGS should contact AGS prior to the show for instructions.) Registration papers must be presented on all animals six (6) months or older.  Animals under six (6) months old may be shown with an ADGA stamped duplicate. No copies of registration papers will be accepted. Persons showing animals whose papers have been signed for transfer but have not been processed for transfer by the ADGA office must show those animals as agents for the current owner shown on ADGA records.

Base Date for computing ages is August 10, 2025
Make sure all tattoos are clear and legible. ADGA Grand Champions or Best of Breed winners must stay to compete for Best of Show or forfeit their leg. The Judge’s decision will be final. 
Permanent CH or GCH does are requested to be shown in the Champion Challenge class.
Best Doe in Show: Grand Champion/Best of Breed winner must stay to compete for Best Doe in Show or else forfeit their leg per ADGA rules.

Show order may be changed at the discretion of the show committee.  The show committee reserves the right to interpret or amend the rules as necessary. All animals entered at the sole risk of the owner. The show committee or the Fairgrounds cannot be held responsible for loss, damage or accident to any person, animal or property while on the Fairgrounds.

Exhibitors are requested to be properly attired in white clothing with closed-toed shoes in the show ring and pen area.

Penning: This is predominantly a “Trailer Show” and exhibitors must bring their own pens to set up if needed. Please see the Cumberland Fair Ground Use section below for pictures of the facility and more information. Exhibitors MUST LEAVE THEIR AREA IN THE SAME CONDITION AS THEY FOUND IT. BRING YOUR OWN SHOVELS, ETC. Soiled bedding MUST BE DISPOSED OF of in the on-site manure pile.

Food: We are planning to have a food table available like last year. Details will be posted on the Facebook Group. Several sandwich shops are located 5 minutes away, including J. Brothers Variety and Cumberland Food Stop.

Photo Booth: We will have a special back drop available for your photo opportunity!

4) COSTUME CLASS


CUMBERLAND FAIRGROUND USE:

The show will take place in the Pulling Arena. Enter from the Teamsters Gate which is off Bruce Hill Road.

The following are facility-use expectations that all exhibitors must follow: Failure to adhere to these use guidelines will result in you not being allowed to show and any corrective cost being charged to you.

Use of Space

  • Arrival is no earlier than noon on Friday August 8, 2025.

  • This is a trailer show and everyone can park in “Teamsters Field” at the corner of Bruce Hill Road and Blanchard Road against the big fences.

  • Do not interfere with ANY other activity taking place on the Fairgrounds.

  • There is limited space around the perimeter of the show rings to set up your own pens on a first-come basis. You must provide your own feed and bedding and CLEAN UP BEFORE DEPARTING. Use of tarps under bedding in pens is recommended for ease of cleaning.

  • Animals may be penned in the ox and horse barns --- but you will need to bring your own bedding and your own gates to accommodate your goats. Pens are on a first come first serve basis and ALL MUST BE CLEANED OUT prior to leaving. See slideshow below for photos of the facility.

  • BYO cleaning supplies (rakes, shovels, wheelbarrow/tarp)

  • No trailers, vehicles or tents will be allowed in the livestock barns or in the roadways. You may park on the grass beside the road.

  • Vehicles in the barn will be towed at the owner’s expense.

  • Please be considerate of space. Make room for all exhibitors. You may be asked to consolidate space at the discretion of the show officials.

  • Campground space is available – RV hookup (electric, septic and water) Reserve your space individually by completing the online application: https://cumberlandfair.com/registration-forms/camping-registration/

  • No animals will be allowed to be penned in the camp ground. (Animals may be kept inside parked trailers, which will be parked in the Teamsters Field.)

Clean-up

  • All bedding must be raked OUT of any pens you use and removed to the designated manure pile

  • Please remove all trash from your pen area to the trash cans

  • Bathrooms—Please clean up after yourself. If Cumberland Fairgrounds deems bathrooms excessively messy, the Farmers will charge an extra fee to the show committee which will impact entry fees next year.

Fire Safety Regulations

  • No vehicles may be parked in any barn or adjacent to barns or buildings—Keep fire lanes open (vehicles will be towed at owner’s expense)

  • No fires or gas grills may be used in the barns

  • No smoking in or around the barn, in aisles, in bathrooms, along roadways or in or around SHOW RING. ******Anyone disregarding this smoking ban will be asked to leave.*******
    This is a requirement of the clubs’ insurance policy and in accordance with Maine Revised Statute 1542: Smoking prohibited in public places.

  • Per Insurance and venue requirements: No cannabis and/or alcohol consumption allowed anywhere on grounds
