You know how, when baby goats are born, your reaction is usually, “Oh they are so cute!”? When Sorrel and his siblings were born, even in the first hours, it was more, “Wow. Look at those magnificent animals.” I guess it’s not too surprising given the amazing parents and grandparents of these kids! Sorrel’s grandsire, SG Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk, is well known for producing the 2017 ADGA National Champion and Best Udder, CH Old Mountain Farm Merriment, and the 2018 ADGA Reserve National Champion, SGCH Old Mountain Farm Shy Elk. His granddam, Old Mountain Farm Gazelle 3*M AR, has a final score of VEEE 91!
It was incredibly difficult deciding which buckling to keep, and I will really miss sweet Sorrel Elk. He has inherited a nice long body from his parents, a lovely brisket, nice straight legs set correctly under the withers, smooth blending and tight shoulders, and is my favorite color for Nigerians -chamoise/buckskin combo.
