Old Mountain Farm AugustSQuinn x Old Mountain Farm MadM Mo Zell 4*M

There are some phenomenal genetics behind this match! Mo’s dam, Old Mountain Farm Gazelle, just received her final appraisal score of EEEE 92 at 8 years old, and Gus’s dam, Old Mountain Farm OctaviaQuinn scored EEEE 91 at 4 years old. Mo herself scored VEVV 88, and the appraiser noted that he expected her scores to improve as she looks likely to hold up extremely well like her dam. Mo was on milk test in 2021 and earned her AR *M easily (pending). She is a very special doe ~ a dream to milk, very productive, beautiful to watch on the move, and incredibly intelligent, playful and connected to her humans! This is a light line breeding on Old Mountain Farm Cernunnos.

Old Mountain Farm AugustSQuinn x Haymaker Farm Marigold 1*M

Our homebred doe, Marigold, just looks better and better! She’s so feminine and dairy, with a lovely globular udder and excellent production. Mari scored +V+V 85 as a yearling FF. She is bred to Gus, whose dam Old Mountain Farm OctaviaQuinn (EEEE 91) has very high, tightly attached udder and allover excellent conformation. Mari earned her milk star this year, and, once her dam earns hers next summer Mari will be an 8*M doe.

Stonebroke Farm N The Flash (2021 LA VEV 89) x Rosasharn YD Lily

Lily comes from a long line of productive milkers bred by Anne Peterson at Rosasharn Farm. Her dam, Rosasharn WS Moonflower 6*M, did extremely well this year in the show ring. Lily was on lease at Denbow Acres for her second freshening and was dried off immediately after kidding, so we don’t have a good sense of what her udder is like yet. We’ve paired her with Flash, who has a proven history of producing gorgeous, elegant daughters with beautiful productive udders. Flash scored VEV 89 as a 7-yr-old this year.

Haymaker Farm Rebel Hart *B x FeatherNScale Andromeda 1*M

Andromeda joined our herd only recently and is a shy but beautiful and powerful yearling - she brings some top-notch milking genes into our herd from Painted Pepper and Sugar Moon. Andy’s full (younger) sister, FeatherNScale Radiant Novah, has recently joined the exclusive herd at Old Mountain Farm. Their granddam, SG 2*M Sugar Moon Gianna, is a Top Ten doe who has been consistently on the Elite List since 2015. We’ve paired Andy with Rebel Hart, a grandson Old Mountain Farm Gazelle EEEE 92. This will be a line breeding on SG Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk *B (2018 National Premier Sire; sire to the 2017 ADGA National Show Grand Champion Senior Doe / 2017 ADGA National Show Best Udder Senior Doe and 2018 ADGA National Show Reserve Champion Senior Doe.) We are excited about this match!

Miss Gypsy is just the sweetest girl! She earned her junior Champion leg this year and we’re excited to see how she does as a first freshener next year. Her full sister, Denbow Acres Keepsake, killed it in the show ring this year and appraised at VEEE 90 as a two year old. Her dam, Denbow Acres Farm Pantelina 2*M AR, also appraised at VEEE 90; her granddam is littermate sister to one of the few Nigerian Dwarfs ever to score a 93, CH Weedy Tavern Farm Lilly EEEE 93. This girl has ton of promise! We’ve paired her with Gus, whose dam Old Mountain Farm OctaviaQuinn EEEE 91 excels in overall correctness with a gorgeous, high, socked-on udder. FeatherNScale ChocolateDipped (AKA Crash Cart, Crash, or CC) is another stunning Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk *B (2018 National Premier Sire) daughter. CC is a beautifully put together chocolate swiss with a very sweet and friendly disposition. She is bred to Old Mountain Farm Smart Alec, a gorgeous polled young buck whose parents we greatly admire. Old Mountain Farm Bravo Quinn +*B x Old Mountain Farm Swift Wind 5*M

Windy is the granddaughter of my favorite goat in the whole world, AR Old Mountain Farm Gazelle 3*M EEEE 92 and the daughter of one of my favorite bucks, Old Mountain Farm Darius Quinn *B. She won her junior champion leg at the very first show she entered this spring, and we’re excited to get her in the ring again as a FF in 2022! Windy is long, level, elegant and feminine without being frail. She is beautiful on the move, smooth and uphill. She is bred to Old Mountain Farm Bravo Quinn, who already has many beautiful kids on the ground. Bravo is grandson to one of my all-time favorite Nigerian Dwarfs, MCH Denning Hill Michi Kasu.

‘Cara’ is another very stylish Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk *B (2018 National Premier Sire) daughter out of the lovely Old Mountain Farm Leia VVEE 90. She is very dairy and has a beautifully wide, long and level rump. Her FF udder was small but with beautiful attachments, and we’re excited to see how it looks this year. ‘Zesty’ is also the daughter of the 2018 National Premier Sire Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk *B, and is a favorite in our herd for so many reasons. She is gorgeous, her udder is a dream, she makes tons of milk, and she has the BEST personality! She placed first in most of the rings she showed in this year as a first freshener, and given her genetics we expect her to be one of those does that only improves with age. When we were offered the chance to buy a full sister to our beautiful Lemon Zest, we could not pass it up! Creme is a Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk *B (2018 National Premier Sire) daughter out of Painted Pepper Lemon Meringue. She came to us bred to Painted Pepper Demetri, whose lineage includes some of our favorite Old Mountain Farm animals, including Armaghan, Grey Cheek, Darius Quinn, Stag, and Cernunnos. We’re very excited to see the kids from this pairing, which is similar to that which produced SGCH Old Mountain Farm Shy Elk, the 2018 ADGA National Reserve Champion Senior Doe. Shy Elk and Mischa have the same dam, the venerable Old Mountain Farm Mila Quinn, who passed this winter. Shy Elk’s sire is SG Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk *B, who was also the 2018 Premier Sire and sire to the 2017 ADGA National Grand Champion and Best Udder, CH Old Mountain Farm Merriment. Our young buck, Haymaker Farm Rebel Hart, is Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk’s grandson. Hoping some of that genetic magic will find it’s way to these kids! Polled kids are possible.

I really did NOT intend to add another doe to my herd this year, but when Dragonfly came to my farm -supposedly just until she found a buyer- I could not let her leave. This girl is dairy to the max, with a beautifully sculpted face, long elegant neck, level topline and rump, and strong brisket. She is very stylish! Polled, moonspotted kids are possible. Elizabeth’s grandsire, Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk *B is internationally known for his exceptional progeny. Though still very young, her correctness and stylishness are already very evident. Elizabeth was bred to two outstanding older bucks; kids will be DNA’d for sire determination at birth. This will either be a line breed on Old Mountain Farm Darius Quinn *B and SG Old Mountain Farm Cernunnos +* B, or on Cernunnos and SG Old Mountain Farm Stag++* B.

This breeding combines Old Mountain Farm, Sugar Moon, and Rosasharn lines. ‘Posy’ is maturing into a very dairy doe. Her pedigree is loaded with milk production accolades (great grand-dam SG 2*M Sugar Moon Gianna is a Top Ten doe who has been consistently on the Elite List since 2015) and show results. We think that she and Rebel Hart, a grandson of both Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk *B and Old Mountain Farm Gazelle EEEE 92, will make some excellent kids.
